The explanation and display spaces at the visitor center are divided into the following five functional sections: front lobby, cultural exhibition hall, special exhibition hall, ecological exhibition hall, audiovisual room, and rear lobby. The counter at the front lobby provides an information enquiry and publication sale service. The enquiry service provides both over-the-counter and phone enquiry services include trail information, recommendations for itineraries, guides, and easy first-aid medication etc. At the rear lobby, there is a 3D map of the entire area, a computer automatic tour guide system, and toilets.

Exhibits displayed at the Ecology Exhibition Hall fall into the following 3 categories :

1. Natural and ecological landscapes
2. Slide display area
3. Volcano and geological models

In the nature and ecological landscaping area, visitors can experience the natural environment surrounding the trail with the nature and ecological landscaping. In the volcano model area the origin of Datun Volcanoes, volcanic landscapes and mineral resources, and the post-volcanic activities are added in the form of slides in addition to volcano eruption models which are the favorite of children to present the unique volcanic geology of Taiwan.
