Shanghuangxi Parking Lot will be closed for construction from September 26 to December 31, 2019. Vehicles may not enter during that period.

The Hiking Gate at Shanghuangxi Parking Lot is one of the main hiking trails that connect Japanese Road (Riren Road), Jinbaoli Trail, and Qingtiangang. The foundations of the trails by the parking lot have been damaged by rising water from the stream which caused the bottoms of certain slopes to be washed away and hollowed out. The hazardous conditions of the trail and facilities have severely affected the safety of visitors. To prevent further deterioration, the construction company will perform slope maintenance and repairs from September 26, 2019 through December 31, 2019. Because large-scale construction machinery will enter and exit the premises during construction and materials will be placed onsite, Shanghuangxi Parking Lot will be closed for construction to expedite construction and ensure the safety of visitors and their property. Other than construction vehicles, no vehicles are permitted onsite. To reduce the impact on visitors’ hiking plans in this area, Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters has planned appropriate passageways for visitors. We remind visitors to follow the directions set up onsite and pass quickly. To prevent accidents, visitors should not linger onsite or enter the construction site. Figure 1 shows the map of the construction site area of Shanghuangxi Parking Lot and passageways for visitors. We remind visitors not to drive their vehicles into the parking lot during the closure and follow the directions onsite and pass quickly. Do not enter the construction site without approval. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring the safety of the public and construction crew. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the construction of the trail. If you have any questions, you may contact us at: (02)2861-3601 ext. 501 Li-Kuo Ke, or Xiaoyoukeng Service Station (02)2861-7024.
