  • Grass Mountain Chateau
    Grass Mountain Chateau

Grass Mountain Chateau was located at a quiet alley of Hudi Road near the Yangmingshan First parking lot. It was a great place to overlook the Keelung River, Tamsui River, Guando Plain, Shezi Island and Mt. Guanyin of the Taipei City. The house was originally built as a guesthouse for Taiwan Sugar Corporation during Japanese Occupation era. It was also used as a residence for Japanese Emperor Showa while visiting Taiwan. In 1949, the former President Chiang Kai-shek used as a guesthouse. Thus, it became the first president residence in Taiwan. In 2002, Taipei city government appointed the house as a historical building and made it to become an art and cultural salon. It was open to the public on 5th of April in 2002 and offered a space for all types of art and creative displays. Unfortunately, the Grass Mountain Chateau was burned down in 2007. It is reopened on 30th of December in 2010 after 1 year and 4 months renovation.

  • Yangming Park
    Yangming Park

If Yangmingshan National Park is the big garden of the greater Taipei basin, then Yangming Park is the garden within the garden. This park is managed by the Taipei City Government Works Department Parks and Lights Management Office. When in season, cherry blossoms, azaleas, camellias, and peach blossoms fill the park; and the delicate thorn apples, plum blossoms in winter, bridges and flowing water, the pavilion and gazebo, flower clock, etc., makes visitors loath to leave. In addition, the nearby Datun Waterfall trail on the west side of the stream is adjacent to the landslide-slip geological sensitive region, steep, slippery and often falling rocks. The side slope collapsed and the base was eroded away in quite a few places. Please take the trailhead at Zhongxing Rd. to visit Datun Waterfall recreation area.
