Juansi Waterfall Trail Restoration Completed, Set to Re-Open on December 25, 2015
Typhoon Soudelor, which hit Taiwan in August earlier this year, caused multiple landslides in Yangmingshan National Park and severely damaged the Juansi Waterfall Trail. In the wake of the typhoon, the National Park Headquarters immediately closed the trail and set out to begin restoration work.
After a 4 month endeavor including on-site surveys, formulating the design plan, and building stone gabions for erosion control — consisting of seeding, piling, building fences, and putting up wire mesh — the renovation project is finally complete, and the trail will be reopened to the public on December 25.
The Park Headquarters urges the public to exercise caution and not linger in areas marked with a hazardous notice and to also be courteous to other visitors when passing on narrow parts of the trail. If there are any problems, please contact the Lengshuikeng Visitor Center at +886-2-28610036.
