YMSNP Invites You to Attend ”The Early Republic’s Martyrs and Sages- Calligraphy and Letters Exhibition” held at the 2nd floor of Dazhong Hall in the Yangmingshuwu!

Since the donation by the Kuomintang Historical Commission (KHC) to the Ministry of the Interior in 1997, the Yangmingshuwu has been placed under the auspices of the Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters (YMSNP) and opened for public tours. KHC collected the revolutionary writings of martyrs that followed Dr Sun Yat Sen - Father of the Republic - to overthrow the Qing Dynasty and establish the Republic of China. The writings were filled with emotions and indignation.

The headquarters rearranged paintings, letters and seal cuttings of 16 martyrs, including the writing of "overthrowing the Qing Dynasty is the first step to a rejuvenated China" by Huang Hsing during Hsin-hai Revolution, the romantic "Letter to My Wife" written by Lin Jue-min the night before his heroic sacrifice, and the utterly indignant confession of Shi Jian-ru. These works epitomize their character and accomplishments in art. These exhibits have been on display in corners of the Yangmingshuwu to await more visitors to appreciate and be moved by the great revolutionary spirit.

Exhibition Duration: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from October 20, 2015; Venue: Special Exhibition Room, 2/F, Dazhong Hall, Yangmingshuwu (No.12, Zhongxing Rd., Yangmingshan, Taipei City); Free entrance, Telephone number, Yangmingshuwu Visitor Center (02)2861-1444.
