Bring the your family to Yangmingshan on May 30 for an unforgettable butterfly watching experience!

Each year during the months from May to July, nectariferous plants such as the Eupatorium shimadae starts to bloom, swarms of butterflies, mainly the Blue Tigers and milkweed butterflies, descend upon Mt. Datun. Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters is proud to bring a series of events for visitors to enjoy the beautiful butterflies. From May 30 to July 4, the park will host events such as the Season of Butterfly Festival Concert, Mt. Datun Butterfly-Viewing Tours, the Butterfly Ecology Exhibition, and the Butterfly Festival Lectures. 

The "Butterfly Festival Concerts" will be held at the Datun Visitor Center and the Headquarters Visitor Center on May 30 and July 4, at 9:30AM and 11AM, respectively. The Chai Found Music Workshop and the Chinese Culture University Music Department Orchestra will be performing butterfly themed musical scores for the visitors to enjoy. 

The " Mt. Datun Butterfly-Viewing Tours" are held daily from May 30 to June 21, 9AM to 3PM. Visitors can sign up for the tour at the Erziping Butterfly-Watching Service Center. Let Our butterfly tour guide lead you through the Mt. Datun car lane to enjoy the fluttering butterflies dancing among the plants. During the tour, our guide will explain the delicate relationship between butterflies, nectar plants and host plants. 

The "Butterfly Ecology Exhibition" will be on display at the Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters Visitor Center and Datun Visitor Center from May 30 to July 4. Vivid and life-like photos of butterflies are presented along with detailed information explaining the ecology of butterflies. Various butterfly host plants and nectariferous plants common to the Yangmingshan area are also on exhibit. 

A series of "Butterfly Festival Lectures" will be held on May 31, June 7, June 14 and June 21 at the visitor center. Various experts and scholars will give lectures on butterfly-related subjects and provide visitors with an opportunity to understand butterflies more intimately. Please take advantage of the public transit system for getting to the park. Visitors can take the metro to MRT Jiantan Station and transfer to the R5 bus. From the Taipei Main Station, take the 260 or 1717 bus. From Shipai MRT Station, take the S8 bus.From Beitou MRT Station, take the 230 or S9 bus. All buses mentioned above will take you to the Yangmingshan bus station or the nearby bus depot, where you can take the 108 bus to Erziping.
