The 2015 Yangmingshan National Park Tianxiyuan Firefly Events are Starting Soon
The early summer nights in Yangmingshan are full of surprises. The dazzling, glowing fairies weaving through the night forest and over the creeks signal the beginning of the overture of summer. Yangmingshan National Park would like to extend a special invitation to you to join us on these early summer nights. Let our tour guides take you on a trip to watch fireflies and observe the rich ecosystem of Tianxiyuan. We believe the unique trip meticulously planned by the Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters will give you a visual and spiritual feast. Tianxiyuan is located on the southeast border of Yangmingshan National Park. Many lakes and streams converge in the park, creating waterfalls both large and small. The park is wet and humid with a valley terrain. There are dense collections of a variety of plants and rich ecological resources. Moss covered green rocks, large common free ferns, little-leaf lemmaphyllum with their short and round leaves, and various unique vegetations cover Tianxiyuan, fostering a diverse habitat for wildlife. Visitors frequently spot crested serpent eagles, Taiwan barbets, and Taiwan whistling thrush, along with amphibians such as Swinhoe's frog, temple tree frog, Chirixalus eiffingeri, etc. Insect ecology is extremely rich in the park, with a variety of butterflies, dragonflies, moths, and damselflies thriving there. Undisturbed by human activity for many years, the rippling sound of streams, rich vegetation, and large amount of insects in the park are a heavenly surprise. Eager to share this joyous feeling with everyone, Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters is hosting a three day 2015 Yangmingshan National Park Tianxiyuan Firefly Event in May. The event will provide guides to take visitors on a journey to discover the insect world in the rich Yangmingshan ecosystem, an area that serves as the best nature classroom. Walking through Tianxiyuan, visitors can bask in the rich and vibrant greenery and enjoy meeting various plants and animals. Are you intrigued? Come and join us at the paradise in Tianxiyuan. This event will take place on May 2nd, 3rd and 9th. All are welcome.
