Exhibition of the Results of YMSNP’s 2008 Outsourced Research and Conservation Project
The annual Exhibition by YMSNP will be held at the Jienshan Nature Center on 2009/3/25 (Wed). We welcome your participation.
In 2008 YMSNP has conducted 16 outsourced research and conservation projects, including 6 outsourced studies and 10 outsourced surveys, covering domains such as culture, earth science, and the management of animal and plant habitats. The content also includes: Survey and planning of the conservation of historic sites, research on the origin of names, soil analysis and survey, survey on tectonic movements in Datun volcanic areas, land magnetotelluric surveys, survey on land vertebrates, evaluation of ecological corridors, gilled species’ grouping in Siangtian Pool, changes of vegetation, interactions between Parantica sita niphonica and nectar sources, changes in prairie societies, monitoring and conserving Isoetaceae habitats in Menghuan Lake, monitoring and restoration of habitats in Er-zi-ping area, conservation of Cingtiangang Special Landscape Grassland, and filing of data on natural resources and related monitoring.
Thanks to the efforts from the project leaders and research teams, all projects have yielded excellent results which will be demonstrated and shared, along with YMSNP’s exciting nature and culture, with the public on 3/25.
In order to further promote research, YMSNP has prepared brochures and optical disks containing the relevant information for participants. In the future, these materials will also be given out at tourist centers in the wish of encouraging visitors to learn and care more about the conservation of national parks.
This Exhibition will be participated by representatives from CPA, project leaders, affiliated groups, local elementary school staff, local residents, and private organizations and volunteers who care about YMSNP. Comments given during the event will also be taken into consideration. Again, we sincerely welcome your participation and appreciate your care for our beautiful land.
