Recruiting volunteer docents and patrols

The Headquarters is responsible for the implementation of environmental education, commentary services, conservation research, preservation inspection and maintenance. We also support various administrative affairs and recruit volunteers to promote and facilitate the operations of the national park.

If you have interest in ecological conservation and are willing to dedicate your time and energy toward this wonderful piece of land, you are welcome to apply for volunteer docent position. Applicants must be 18 years of older and must be able to speak Mandarin Chinese. We also welcome bilingual applicants to act as foreign language guides. The volunteer docent will be responsible for consultation services, explanations of services, volunteer administrative work, providing commentary for visitor groups and other support services in the visitor center and visitor service stations. Volunteers will be on staff at least once a month from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The volunteer patrol position responsibilities include inspection and maintenance work for the environment, facilities and trails, monitoring of species and the environment, removal of exotic species, assisting in ecological conservation and promotion. Both volunteer docents and patrols will not be paid for their efforts.

The registration period lasts from now until May 31. .Please download the regulations and registration forms in the 'News' section of the website http://www.ymsnp.gov.tw. Please mail your registration form and CV to the Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters, No. 1-20 Zhuzihu Road, Yangmingshan, Taipei City on or before May 31, 2012 and mark clearly on envelope whether the application is for the “volunteer docent " or the " volunteer patrol ".
