2012 ” Insect Tour ” at the Tianxiyuan Park
Summertime is nearly upon us! 'This the season when nature is at its most vibrant and the air is filled with the singing of colorful birds. The sweet ring of their calls seems to rouse nature from its long slumber, and feels like a warm invitation for us all to make a trek into the mountains. Deep within the seemingly tranquil hills and forests, stick insects, stag beetles, katydids, mantises, stink bugs, and an assortment of other creatures are busy foraging and reproducing. Early summer is when Yangmingshan is buzzing with life and energy the most, and serves as the perfect time for Yangmingshan National Park to present its three-part " Insect Tour" at the Tianxiyuan Park. Combined with a series of events celebrating the 2012 Butterfly Season and accompanied by the park's knowledgeable tour guides, you and your family can fully appreciate Tianxiyuan in early summertime and experience the area's beauty while learning about nature.
The Tianxiyuan Park is located on the southeast side of Yangmingshan National Park, where many streams converge, a variety of plants prosper, and abundant wildlife flourish — including an impressive number of insects! To share this joy of nature with everyone, Yangmingshan National Park will be hosting a three-part " Insect Tour" event this May at the Tianxiyuan Park. Come join us and our knowledgeable guides as we take participants on a tour of the fascinating world of bugs in the perfect eco-classroom — the rich natural environment of Tianxiyuan.
The event will take place on May 19, 20, and 26, 2012. Anyone interested in nature is welcome to attend! The application fee is NT$500, which includes dinner, insurance, materials, and transportation. More information is available at the official Yangmingshan National Park website.
