To the north of this park is the ocean and to its south is the Taipei Basin. Geological features created by activity of the Datunshan Volcano, such as cone volcanoes and tholoids, the radial river system, sulphur vents along the belt fault, and boiling hot springs make Yangmingshan a place with special cultural and natural ecological systems. Moreover, seasonal changes in scenery attract numerous photographers.
