Step into a Treasury of World Cultural Heritage: The 2026 Gyeongju National Park Photography Exhibition in Yangmingshan

Boasting a unique volcanic landscape and culture, Yangmingshan National Park signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with South Korea's Gyeongju National Park—comprising numerous precious cultural heritage sites—in 2022, marking the first bilateral park-to-park cooperation between Taiwan and South Korea. The MOU was successfully renewed in September 2025, continually fostering international exchange and mutual benefits, while deepening practical cooperation in ecological conservation and park management. To give the public a closer look and a better understanding of South Korea's national parks, the Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters (hereinafter referred to as the YMS National Park HQ) under the National Park Service, Ministry of the Interior, has specially organized the Gyeongju National Park Photography Exhibition. Featuring a curated selection of photographs showcasing historical sites such as Buddha statues, pagodas, and temples, alongside local flora and fauna, the exhibition invites visitors to step into a veritable treasury of world cultural heritage.

Award-Winning Photography Staged on Eco-Friendly Panels

The photographs on display are winning works from a photography competition organized by Korea National Parks. They feature stunning images including Bulguksa Temple (a World Cultural Heritage site), the Dabotag and Seokgatap pagodas built in 751 AD, Buddha statues from the Unified Silla period, a Baekje-style stone pagoda located atop the ridge of Namsan Mountain, as well as vivid ecological photos of Gyeongju National Park's bird and animal resources. Every single image is a must-see.

In alignment with the goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, the exhibition panels are made from 100% recyclable Re-board eco-friendly paper wood panels to fulfill green action indicators. Through this exhibition experience, visitors are introduced to concepts of circular sustainability and environmental sustainability within net-zero transition strategies.

Exhibition Surprises Awaiting Your Discovery

In addition to exquisite photography from Gyeongju National Park, the exhibition site features specially planned dynamic video presentations introducing the park for visitors to pause and enjoy. There are also interactive mini-games for visitors of all ages to experience firsthand, an online questionnaire event featuring South Korea's cute national park mascot with a chance to win prizes, message cards for visitors to write on-site, and a photo backdrop that lets you instantly "fly" to Gyeongju to capture wonderful memories.

Visitors who participate in the interactive mini-games on-site will have a chance to receive a daily limited-edition gift, while supplies last.
